The faculty and students are the greatest resource of GCSU, and excellence in teaching and learning is the most significant aspect of GCSU's mission as Georgia's Public Liberal Arts University. The mission of the CETL is to provide opportunities and resources for faculty to enhance their professional lives in areas related to teaching and learning. The Center strives to foster an awareness of the connections between teaching and learning and to support greater respect and rewards for excellence in teaching.

CETL sponsors workshops every month during the academic year, midterm course assessments, book discussions, an electronic discussion forum (teach_talk), and various other programs throughout the year.
