So, another staff member and I were talking about another way to save on energy…it’s a really novel idea… Staff could get off the same dates that faculty and students do, and then we wouldn’t have to AC or heat or electrify the buildings all those extra days (like this Tuesday, or spring break, or the weeks before X-mas when you all have off, and we’re here twiddling our thumbs with nothing to do since our clientele is absent from the workplace)  Anyhow, just a thought.  I was thinking about staging a sit in, but then I thought, the only people who would be on campus are the ones who would be participating in the sit in…so probably not the most effective idea.

It probably does not need to be pointed out to you that the A&S auditorium commonly has the temperature of a meat locker. I caught a cold and an ear infection from the cold air blowing on me during Wednesday’s University-wide faculty meeting, and today’s SOLAS meeting only made both matters worse. (And I had brought a jacket both times). The basement of the library is another Siberian cold spot (or at least it was last year). I was literally sick for a week after having spent about two hours there last academic year.
