WHAT IS THE 1200 CLUB GIVING PROGRAM?
The 1200 Club is a giving society newly
established by faculty and staff to promote internal support for GC&SU's
annual scholarship program, while simultaneously building a self-sustaining
endowment to ensure the future security of the scholarship program.
I DON'T HAVE A LOT TO GIVE. WHY SHOULD
I PARTICIPATE? HOW CAN MY GIFT MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
The 1200 Club is an opportunity for us
to invest in ourselves. Every single gift counts. Our participation
represents a vote of confidence in GC&SU and our students, and is a
powerful endorsement to the alumni, friends, parents, corporations, and
foundations we ask to invest in the university.
HOW MUCH AM I REQUIRED TO GIVE TO
BECOME A MEMBER OF THE 1200 CLUB?
The amount is up to you; there is no minumum
contribution. Recognizing that all of us have financial obligations and
limited resources, we respect your right to determine the size of your gift.
That you give is just as important as what you give.
Because our gifts demonstrate to others our belief in our mission, our goal
is to encourage as many faculty and staff as possible to participate. Even
small gifts, when combined with the gifts of others, add up to a significant
amount. Just think, one hundred gifts of $12.00 will fund a student
scholarship.
HOW DO I MAKE A GIFT TO THE 1200 CLUB?
You can join the 1200 Club with a single
annual gift by checking the third box at the bottom of this page and
sending it along with cash or check made payable to the 1200 Club to
Campus Box 096. But the most convenient way for employees to give
is through payroll deduction, which enables many of us to make a
larger commitment, since it is paid over time. Further, once you've joined
the 1200 Club through payroll duduction your deduction will remain in effect
until you decide to change it, so you don't have to remember to
renew your membership each year. If you are not enrolled in
payroll deduction, or if you are enrolled but wish to change or
increase your current deduction to include the 1200 Club, return the
bottom portion of this page to Campus Box 096, checking the box that
applies to your status. You will be sent a new payroll deduction form to
fill out, authorizing Payroll Services to automatically deduct from your
check each pay period any amount you choose. When you submit a new form,
be sure to state all desired deductions and designations.
Payroll will disregard any previous instructions, and immediately begin
deducting the total amounts indicated on the most current form.
