Evaluation & merit raise procedure currently in place not working.  Needs revamping.  Not consistent across campus.  Some supervisors don’t evaluate.

Support for employees to excel and move up.  Supervisors should not hold employee back but rather encourage.

Classification system – need to have salaries that are updated on a regular basis and fairly classified all staff positions.

Incentive program that promotes professional development.

Pay Study Classification Plan is the first step in accomplishing many of these issues.  The evaluation forms are being reviewed and are part of this study.

request:

Computer in physical plant so that employees can check email and view This Week Online.  There are currently older computers on campus that could be recycled to meet this need so there would be no additional expense.  These could be located where employees check in or in break room.  Several would be needed.  Networking would be involved to run cable.

response:

Four computers have been installed in the Physical Plant area:  two in Ennis Hall Basement, one upstairs and one downstairs in the Physical Plant offices.  Each employee has an email account.
