Called Meeting

Present: Monica Wood, Cindy Potts, Neil Jones
Carol Brown was ill, and Ann Portwood was involved with a work assignment.
Because there was no quorum, no binding decisions were made. It was also noted that additional information was required before making any final decisions.
1. Staff Council has been approached to help with the Bobcat Ramble scheduled for Saturday, November 6, at 8:00 AM. It was noted this is a great opportunity to expand the service area of Staff Council and facilitate a promotional effort for Georgia College & State University. Cindy Potts is serving on the Bobcat Ramble committee. Cindy is going to collect information and will assist Carol Brown in communicating with Joe Bellflower about areas Staff Council can help with, specifically prizes and possibly food and service volunteers. All proceeds from the Bobcat Ramble will benefit a scholarship fund set aside to assist a local area student.
2. Monica Wood presented another service opportunity associated with the Presidential Inauguration. On November 10 the Day of Service begins, and Staff Council has been asked to assist with the distribution of food drive boxes across the campus. It was agreed that we would like to participate, and Monica Wood will provide the required follow-up. Cindy Potts and Neil Jones have worked with OIIT to reserve some boxes for this program.
