Staff representative for Technology Committee. Barbara Monnett is our staff representative on this committee.
Faculty/Staff Housing. A staff member had previously submitted a question about whether or not GCSU plans to use any of the dorms or new space for faculty/staff housing again. Carol asked Paul Jahr about this, and he said there were no plans for housing for faculty/staff at the present time. Paul said he’d be glad to answer any further questions about this issue.
Special thanks. Carol shared special thanks to Staff Council from Joe Bellflower for our help with the Bobcat Ramble; thanks for our help with the Benefits Fair; and thanks for the successful Staff Excellence Award Ceremony. The Staff Excellence Award Committee did an excellent job with the ceremony, and we look forward to the spring ceremony.
Adopting a family for Christmas. Carol and Ann Portwood are coordinating this project, and things are progressing nicely. Thanks to all who’ve already donated. In addition to the needy family project, donations are also being accepted for Derryl Amoss. For more information, please call Jim Lidstone or Karen Higgs.
Other Business.
Carol introduced guest Rachel Schipper, University Librarian, who had some good news about the library. The renovation is expected to be completed by May with a move-in scheduled for early summer.
