Minutes
Delegates present: Cindy Diaz (Chair), Crystal Miller, Terri Pope, Ann Portwood, Barbara Monnett, Alma Hall, Kendall Stiles, Bill Bloodworth, Clarice McLin, Priscilla Hooks, and Erica Freitag who recorded the minutes.
Other members present: Ainsley Eubanks, State Representative
Absent: Clay Cadwell
Excused: Robert Ethier, Jenny Gettis (Past Chair)
Cindy Diaz called the special session to order. Today?s special session was held to resolve the chair-elect position. Due to the workload and requirements of his job, Robert Ethier felt it was best to resign as chair-elect. All nominated delegates declined to take on the position of chair-elect. A motion was made by Kendall Stiles to allow Cindy Diaz serve as Chair for a second term, as allowed by the bylaws. That motion was seconded by Terri Pope and passed unanimously. Cindy reminded the delegates that we must have an active membership. She urged every current delegate to consider taking officer positions if nominated in the May meeting.
A motion was made by Terri Pope to allow Ainsley Eubanks to serve as the Staff Council State Representative for another term. That motion was seconded by Alma Hall and passed unanimously. Ainsley reminded the delegates that the Chair and/or Chair-Elect need to accompany her to the quarterly meetings. This began a discussion regarding the position of State Representative. Alma Hall made a motion to revise the bylaws to state that the Past Chair will assume the duties of State Representative. Priscilla Hooks seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The chair-elect nomination process will begin at the May meeting.
Cindy thanked Kendall Stiles and her committee for the awards ceremony this morning. This event has been well attended and will continue to grow.

Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 31st at 2:00 p.m. in Chappell 110.
