Cambridge Who’s Who recognizes Georgia College assistant professor

large photo Assistant Professor Dr. Doreen Sams of Georgia College & State University has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who, the fastest-growing publisher of executive, professional and entrepreneur biographies in the world.

Sams received the recognition for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of marketing education. Her expertise is in ethics, international marketing, not-for-profit, and marketing research.

Sams teaches business ethics, advanced marketing theory and application, international business at the master’s level, and international marketing and marketing research at the undergraduate level at Georgia College. Dr. Sams also teaches at Georgia College’s Center for Graduate and Professional Learning in Macon and at Robins AFB in Warner Robins.

Sams and other members of Cambridge Who’s Who receive the recognition and exposure of their accomplishments, credibility in their field and networking opportunities.

“This recognition provides me with a significant network of other professionals that otherwise is not readily available,” Sams said. “After checking out Cambridge, I believe that the networking alone is a benefit for me personally and professionally and is the reason I joined. One primary area of focus in my discipline is international marketing. Therefore, networking with professionals across the globe is very important to my research. And, by being on three major search engines, Ask.Com, Google.com and Yahoo.com, my profile is quickly and easily available to other researchers seeking research collaborators.”

Sams joined Cambridge following recommendations from colleagues. The national recognition will benefit both the university and her students.

“The recognition also provides name recognition for Georgia College to members of Cambridge Who's Who and others who use the three primary search engines,” Sams said. “As for the benefit to our students at Georgia College, collaboration with other professionals creates an opportunity to share that knowledge with the students, opening up greater networks and career.”

Sams is an alumna of the University of South Florida where she received a bachelor of arts degree in 1998, MBA in 1999 and a doctoral degree in 2005. She has published on marketing articles in several international journals and presented in China. She is a member of the American Marketing Association, Academy of Marketing Science, Boys and Girls Club of Baldwin and Jones counties, Direct Marketing Association, Middle Atlantic and New England Council for Canadian Studies, Southern Association for Canadian Studies and Women's Leadership Forum and has received several outstanding awards and recognitions.
