Georgia College hosts middle education summit

Two hundred educators, potential educators, and sponsors plan to spend the day learning how to “commit to change.”

Georgia College & State University’s Collegiate Middle Level Association and the John H. Lounsbury School of Education are sponsoring the 5th Annual Middle Level Education Summit on campus Friday, Oct. 9.

The summit provides a valuable one-day professional experience for teachers looking to improve their skills. This year’s theme, “Commit to Change” refers to the ways teachers interact with their students.

The program allows ample time for participants to learn about the Early College Program, attend specialized breakout sessions and network during lunch.

Dr. Tom Erb, recently retired editor of the Middle School Journal, and Elizabeth Koller, executive director of Perspectives on Growth and Development, Inc., will present their unique perspectives.

Middle grades teacher candidates, as well as school- and university-based educators attended the summits in previous years and gained meaningful experiences and relationships.
