Georgia College students earn ‘Next Generation Leader’ awards

Two Georgia College students have been named among 25 students across the United States to receive Next Generation Leader awards through a grant from the Kellogg Foundation.

American Humanics Nonprofit Management Certification students Britton Tuck and Katherine Strack will received $4,500 each to assist in completing a high quality internship with a national or international nonprofit organization.

Tuck, a Community Health major of Cochran, will serve her internship in Africa this summer where she will develop a program related to the health needs of the area where she will live.

She will receive an American Humanics Certificate in Nonprofit Management when she graduates from Georgia College in December.

Strack, a Liberal Studies major of Canton, will apply to the Afterschool Investment Council for an internship in Atlanta this summer.

She will graduate in May and receive an American Humanics Certificate upon completion of her internship.

American Humanics is a collaborative program between American Humanics, Inc. of Kansas City, Mo., and 75 colleges and universities across the country.

The Certification in Nonprofit Management is an offering of the Office of Academic Engagement and is open to all students.
