The YES Afterschool Program and Parent University will hold a job and resource fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 at Milledgeville Mall.The fair will offer information on health, education, and employment. Representatives from local agencies such as Baldwin County Department of Families and Children’s Services, and Parent University will provide information on their programs.
Communities in School, Baldwin County Solicitors Office, Goodwill Industries, Take Charge Pregnancy prevention, Digital Bridges and others will be on hand to share information about their services along admissions officers from Georgia College & State University, Georgia Military College, Savannah State University and Central Georgia Technical College.
The Georgia Department of Labor, Georgia Department of Corrections, Central State Hospital, Reynolds Plantation, Baldwin County Board of Education (for those interested in driving school buses) and ATC Nursing will share employment opportunities.
A partnership between Georgia College & State University, Baldwin County Schools, and Milledgeville citizens, the YES Afterschool Program, now in its third year, helps students in grades 3 through 12 at Eagle Ridge, Midway and Blandy Elementary Schools; Oak Hill Middle School; and Baldwin High School meet state and local standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math. YES also includes adult literacy activities.
