Department of Music and Theatre brings summer concerts to campus
The Georgia College & State University Department of Music and Theatre is spicing up the long, hot summer by bringing two concerts to the campus in June. Musica Da Camera, a quartet of symphony musicians from the Atlanta area with GC&SU music faculty member Richard Mercier, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, and Trio L'Oiseau-Lyre will perform at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12. Both performances are at Max Noah Recital Hall in the Porter Fine Arts Building. There is no admission charge. The program will include Carl Maria von Weber's Andante and Hungarian Rondo for Viola and Piano featuring Tania Maxwell Clements on viola and Mercier on piano; and Franz Schubert's Trout Quintet opus 114, also with Mercier on piano. Trio L'Oiseau-Lyre is made up of Rebecca Collins, oboe; Gregory Collins, clarinet; and Constance Wells, bassoon.
